The Restaurant

From gourmet restaurant to a creative lab

I grew up in Wenzhou, a place known for its hardworking people and strong business mindset. My parents had their own business, so from a young age I learned what it means to be diligent, independent, and to build something through your own effort.
I’ve been living in Germany since 2010. My two sisters and I opened a restaurant together, where we worked side by side for many years, sharing the same values we grew up with.

Before that, my family and I also lived in the Netherlands for a long time. With its large Cantonese community, that’s where I really developed my love for dim sum. After moving to Germany, I often found myself missing the kind of dim sum that was so easy to find there.

Food has always been a big part of my life. Over time, I realized I wanted to create a place that brings together everything I personally enjoy. My husband specializes in Yue cuisine and Sichuan cuisine, which made it feel natural for us to combine different flavors and styles we both care about.

San Jie Mei is my own chapter now. It reflects my background, my experiences, and the food I truly love. Nothing complicated. Just honest dishes, made with care, and meant to be shared.
